Wandering around office with my M8

Today, still trying to get used with the rangefinder I've wandering around the office try to get some interesting pictures.

And here they are

Well... it's been 2 fascinating days playing around with my M8... been browsing a lot of sources about M8, best tips and tricks to deal with tricky rangefinder, all the pros and cons about this little beauty....

So I think I should grab a couple of pics of my M8. This time I'm using my Canon 7D + 100mm F/2.8 L Lens

Experiencing Leica M8 on Hand

Year after years... my goal was to be able to have a Leica in my hand. So after a long and painful saving process, I managed my self a used Leica M8 which still cost me around $3,000 for the body, and for the lens I chose Voigtlander Nokton 35mm F/1.4 the cheapest lens for M Series (around $600) while dreaming that someday I might get my self a Cron or even a Lux... *fingers cross.....

So there will be no un-boxing photos here as this is not a new thing....
To tell the truth, this is the first time I've ever shot with a range finder, so I'm still getting used to it....

After fiddling around with the menu, settings, charging the battery, I can get few shots. But too bad the CD that comes with the package can not be installed to my Mac, probably because I've got the latest iMac which is 64 bit. But still OK, I can download the picture using Lightroom.

So here are the first couple shots that I can take with my new used M8.. :-)

Very good color saturation

Amazing bokeh

a bit misfocus here :-p but still a good color saturation + nice bokeh

sharp....

nice DOF

Miss Universe "Lost"Panties" Columbia

This year’s Miss Universe pageant got its share of controversy –courtesy Miss Colombia Catalina Robayo, who decided to go commando while promoting the pageant.
Miss Colombia Catalina Robayo was wearing a short orange dress which failed to cover up her privates.  It seems the contestants are finding it extremely difficult to score points with judges through conventional route.
These pictures were published by a local newspaper in Sao Paulo which took photos of the event – and the crotch shot photo was reportedly on the front paper of the newspaper.  Robayo had on a short bright coral dress and was sitting down – and didn’t have her legs crossed like she should have.
The Miss Universe officials have expressed their displeasure and discomfort with these pictures. According to highly placed sources in the pageant, “Colombia had to be spoken to and told she needed to wear underpants as what she was doing was totally inappropriate.”  The Source further added, “People have been pretty upset by it; there have been photos and media appearances where she has completely had her crotch out.”
While reacting to the incident President of the Miss Universe Organization, Paula Shugart said, “There were several girls in short dresses which is was a little concerning, but when I saw the (commando) picture on the front page of one of the local papers and was very, very surprised,” Shugart said. “Our supervisors talked to all of the contestants about dressing appropriately, and one of our PR people spoke to her (Robayo) and apparently she said she was wearing underwear. But regardless, it created quite a stir here for a few days.”

Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM Lens Review

I've been browsing around to find a new lens for my collection, actually I've wanted to have another Carl Zeiss manual lens (am dreaming of Carl Zeiss 75mm/1.7 but it's so pricey... :( )

so I stumble upon this review from digital picture, and it's really tempting......

very strong review and nice sample pics as well.....

Here are the sample pics http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Sample-Pictures.aspx?Equipment=108
